Thirty Six Volt 8P10S kit made of five 8P2S Blocs. With all BatteryBlocs you can disassemble the battery to repair it or to upgrade the cells.
Included is a 10S JST connector for a 10S hobby charger. There is an XT-90 for the power and charging connection, and a 30 amp blade fuse. The threaded rod is cut to fit. As in all BatteryBlocs, all the series connectors and electrical ring connectors are included.
You’ll need 80 cells. If you use these 2600 mah cells you will have a 20.8 amp hour battery of 748 watt hours. If you use these 3500 mah cells you will have a 28 amp hour battery of 1008 watt hours- or just over a kilowatt hour.
The finished battery measures 3.8″ high, 6″ wide, and just under 10″ long. With cells it weighs 10 lbs. Assembly Instructions here.
You could use a 10S BMS for balancing:
Or you could charge and balance it with a 10S Hobby Charger:
You can use a smaller charger – like a common 6S hobby charger
but you will need to balance charge the battery in halves. You can read my ebook for wiring instructions.
Be aware that you will need a 12 volt power supply or battery to power the hobby charger- a server power supply works well:
You can build your own high powered charger using the above power supply and this boost converter. The charge voltage is adjustable- so you can undercharge your battery extending it’s life and it can adapt to your changing needs:
A simple Watt Meter is great for monitoring the battery:
